This strong, impactful graphic retelling has a cinematic quality. The story of a group of boys trying to survive on an island as civilisation erodes into savagery is repellent at points but in the best possible way because of the prowess and power of the illustration. There are moments of great vulnerability, like when Piggy’s glasses are shown to be broken, and there’s palpable unease and menace in the depictions of the beast and the pilot. It carries readers on a real journey.

This is a moving story, it reflects how young people need guidance but can be independent. How rules and laws matter so much. The children are brave and daring to face such a situation. The pictures are done so well, it makes you feel every child’s emotion. Brilliant book for readers that love relatable, action packed storys

I really enjoyed reading Lord Of The Flies Graphic Novel as someone who struggles to stay focused on one book. But I felt it was entertaining because its not just words, its bright pictures too and you get more of an idea of how it would of been if you were there and how scared the children were.I love how on the blurb it states "orphaned by society" because it makes the reader sympathetic as orphaned tends to be associated with alone and abandoned.I loved how it has the before the island and after at the back which shows they have been there for a long time as you can tell from hair growth and more.

Lord of the Flies is one of the greatest books ever!! I'm super-duper privileged for getting to read the graphic adaptation and the og novel! The story has a good message and you can easily tell what the characters represent. Jack Merridew is the best character - he's a lovely chap, unlike Ralph.

I loved Lord of the Flies and would strongly recommend it to anyone. I don't usually read graphic novels because I feel like you can't tell what the characters are feeling, whereas a prose book would say "shock flashed on her face". However this book was really good. 5 STARS!

Lord of the Flies is an intense but intriguing book. The Illustrations really bring it to life, especially when there is death/drama. The illustrations are rather squeamish and gory but very detailed. Sometimes, the imagery got my heart beating with nerves, for it was very graphic. I would recommend it to older readers. Overall, my rating was 8.5 / 10, as I felt it could have flowed a little bit better.

The book is mostly about a group of school boys, whose plane has crashed into a desert island. The main characters are three boys. The older boy is called Jack, then there is Ralf and then Piggy and they have to try to survive. The story takes place on a desert island and my favourite part is when the school boys become two different groups and start a war. A thing that really surprised me was that even though everybody was chasing Ralf to death, he survived. I think that the illustrations are really important and helps you understand the story better. Lord of the Flies’ illustrations are really clear and helped me picture the story better. My favourite illustration was at the end when the boys get rescued and everybody starts crying. I would recommend this boy to kids who like adventure stories. I think it is suitable from 10 to adults.

It’s about a group of school boys whose plane crash landed on a desert island and they have to try and survive. The main characters are Jack, Piggy and Ralph. They want to survive until they get rescued. The story takes place on a desert island. My favourite part about LORD OF THE FLIES is when Jack and Ralph become two different tribes and Jack wants to steal the members of Ralph’s tribe. What was surprising was that, altough Simon was part of the choir, Head ChoristerJack and his tribe killed him when they were doing, what Jack liked to called “do our dance”. What I noticed about the pictures was that each picture had a a different colour for each theme and it got darker towards the end. The illustrations make the story sad sometimes and excited at times. I enjoyed the book very much because I love graphic novels and this book kept me in suspense for the whole story. It makes me want to read the original novel.

Lord of the Flies was an excellent Graphic Novel. There was some writing and it was easy to follow. There was one page with someone's face covered in blood which was the only bad page. Well, it's not bad, it's kinda scary, so I like it.

I would rate this book a 4.5 out of 5. The things I love about The Lord of the Flies are the beautiful illustrations. They take the main role as they paint an image whilst reading. I didn’t really like how gory it was but overall it was amazing.

Its not for squeamish people. There is blood, violence, death and murder. Some parts are extremely graphic, too graphic even. It shows people reverting back to primitive nature of survival. It's a good book but really dark.

I adored this amazing book! it was filled with character and I could really imagine I was on the island. I felt it respected the original book while adding in more emotion with the illustrations.

I really enjoyed this graphic novel because even though I haven’t read the original book, I could really understand the characters and emphasise with them just through the illustrations. I really liked the watercolour + fineliner shading drawing style because you could really see the movement in the characters. The story itself was so interesting because it showed how humans could turn into animals when you lose civilisation. My favourite panels were probably the flies chasing Simon on page 235 and the cult-like dance panels that led up to Simon’s murder. The next few panels after were also really good since the monotone colour pallet symbolised Piggy and Ralph’s fear and grief. I hated Jack after I finished the book because of how he turned Ralph into prey and hunted him like an animal, completely contrasting to his ‘choir-boy’ character at the start of the book. He turned into what he hated, a creature without law and order while keeping his original ideals of wanting meat and being chief, though that quickly turned into insanity. Overall I think this book deserved being in the Carnegies shortlist and would recommend to anyone.
