I like this book a lot! It is special and also uses various colours. The book also has heavily detailed and colourful illustrations. I like the fact that the owl is on all of the pages.

Amazing book! The illustrations help add more to the story. I like the fact how the lights on the train go off as other people on the train go to sleep. The story also uses very vibrant colours and uses a vast colour scheme which makes this story special. Amazing story!

I loved all the colours - especially the different shades of pink! This book reminded me of a film I watched about a girl on a sleeper train. She couldn't sleep and she tried to daydream about things to help - just like in the book!

I liked how there was a lizard and a bridge on the first page, and that there was the same lizard and the same bridge on the last page!

I enjoyed reading The Sleeper Train. The story was exciting and kept me interested from beginning to end. I liked learning about the journey on the train and the characters. The illustrations helped bring the story to life. Also i think the purple owl had a real meaning behind it as a magical friend. I would recommend this book because it is fun, easy to read, and enjoyable.

The colours are beautiful and you learn about different cultures through the illustrations. FS and Y1 said the colours were pretty and they loved the colour scheme but Y4 thought the colours were too repetitive. Y2 thought the colours were calming and they loved the patterns. Y3 loved the backgrounds and Y5 said the detailed colourful images were inviting and highlights the beauty of another culture.

I personally found it really calming. I'm not sure if there was any symbolism or not, but there was something oddly comforting about how they made it sound childlike, by using relatively childish wording, which was cool since the main character was a child.

a beautifully illustrated book and would be well suited to a small child and should be more well known

I think sleeper train is a really good book to teach young kids how sometimes it is hard to fall asleep but you can dream and get comfort by just dreaming .The colours in sleeper train are really good because it sets a happy mood and makes younger readers feel nice and they're not being overwhelmed. I personally feel like this book has a really deep meaning.

I think that the front cover isn't as good as the story itself, and the style of the art freaked me out a bit, but apart form that, there was a great storyline and it's much more interesting as a story than with illustrations. I didn't really like the style of it, but I think that lots of children might. I think that the visual representation is also very good and, to some extent, I think you needed that to deliver the story, as there is nothing about their heritage or culture in the actual text.

We collectively gave it approximately 8.5/10. We liked the selection of colours and the unusual patterns on each page. As a group, we tried to make Rangoli patterns using felt pens and pipe cleaners to emulate the patterns in the book. We also loved spotting the pink owl on each page and the different places the family went or the little girl slept. The flowers and plants along the bottom of some of the pages were interesting too!

The book is about a little girl who can't sleep on a train. The book is quite soothing and calm like a bedtime story and it makes you feel like your inside the book. I would recommend this book to people that like calm, short books. My favourite character was the little girl because she kept persevering to get to sleep.

I really like the colourful illustrations, but I think the book was for children younger than us. I also think that it was really fun when you had to spot the pink owl.

This book I think is an alright book, its got lovely pictures. I loved the page where the main character was wondering if any other child was awake, and there was a house next to the train with a child peeking out! It was quite funny and I'm glad to have noticed it, some of the illustrations are a little bit, all over the place. But i think it makes it feel really alive. Would maybe not recommend to older ages, as its a picture book and quite short. But its a great bedtime story as it talks a lot about sleeping.
