I like how there's a plot twist in the book and there are not many colours. The page that shows the child's nightmare is really spooky! It uses the same colours as when their boat is sinking and they don't know if they will be rescued.

Amazing book! The illustrations help add more to the story. I like the fact how the lights on the train go off as other people on the train go to sleep. The story also uses very vibrant colours and uses a vast colour scheme which makes this story special. Amazing story!

I loved all the detail in the illustrations and how it can be read by most ages young and old because it is mostly just pictures and the words are not that complex. I also like how it is quite relatable to me as I always have my headphones in my ears and am always on my phone, plus I am a scout so I really like nature and wild animals too. An amazing book!

This book is really relatable to me! I love the way all the words and letters wiggle and jiggle and how she wants to try to get to the end of the book. This book is really enjoyable - I'm so happy she is happy at the end!

I loved all the colours - especially the different shades of pink! This book reminded me of a film I watched about a girl on a sleeper train. She couldn't sleep and she tried to daydream about things to help - just like in the book!

Freedom Braids
We loved reading Freedom Braids and exploring the different braids on the endpapers to see if we could 'read' the messages in them. We really like the page where you can see Big Mother's braided map and the road they are following that is shown in her braids. Beautiful illustrations!
