The Song Walker
I would rate The Song Walker a 7/10 stars as I liked the narrative especially when at the end Sienna finds out who she is and how her family is rich. However, I hated how at the beginning she wasn't really trying to find out where she came from and not asking for help at a local station or anywhere else but she kept following Tarni (a girl whom she meets when she wakes up and finds herself in a desert).

Safiyyah's War
Safiyyah's War is a truly life changing book. It reflects onto those who experience war on day to day life. It conveys aspects of World War 2, which is a very important topic people should be conscious of. I adore this book because it informs you about different religions such as Islam and Judaism, and that the writer of this book (Hiba Noor Khan) uses terms such as Mashallah, Inshallah. This shows readers that Muslims and those who are Jewish get stereotyped, like its a habit. The main thing that I utterly enjoy is how much of an adventurer Safiyyah is, and how she explores different parts of the world. I definitely think many people should take recognition of this book.

Simrah

Crossing the Line
I think Crossing the line should win the award. My reasoning for this is that although I don't really like books, I actually read this whole book and enjoyed it alot. I think Crossing the line can relate to many teenagers and even help/inspire them to get themselfs out of any trouble their in. Tia Fisher has really put a lot of thought in this book, allowing the readers to really understand the suffers of Erik. Another thing I would like to mention is that the writing in the book is not like any other. Instead of just words along the page, Tia has placed them in different ways; spirals, boxes, stairs, circles. This is very eye catching and makes reading much more enjoyable in this way.

Emilia

Safiyyah's War
this book we very intruiging and pulls me back in after every page. i also enjoyed this book because it is about stuff i relate such as mosque and the language they use and also the struggles saffiyah faces during this book . it could definitely encourage people to build up confidence because of saffiyahs action to her battlrs. this is a very adventurous book and you could read this over and over again and never get bored. i would 100% recommend this book to muslim girls and everyone.

Crossing the Line
Crossing The Line is a very engaging and breath-taking story. I LOVED the relatable life style of the teenage boy- Erik. I really though like I was there, feeling the sorrow, pain and emotions presented in the amazing book. Its a book I loved and still think about today. I couldn't stop turning the page! I really hope this book wins and Tia Fisher receives the award as this book is unbeatable and she has worked really hard on it, putting lots of thought and care into EVERY word. I LOVED the placement of words on the pages; spirals, boxes, stairs, shapes and forms making the reading sooooo fun. I really enjoyed it. A great story to explore.

DALITSO

Crossing the Line
This book was very gripping and will hook the reader until the end. It will also make you feel sympathy for young Erik as he goes through hard times of grief, mourn and spur of the moment decisions alone. Overall, in my opinion, I would recommend this book greatly and would advise people to read this so as to be aware of the dangers of drug dealing, gang life and county lines.

Away With Words
I would rate Away With Words a 5/10 stars; it was ok but it was a bit bland especially at the beginning and middle- the ending saved the book with the small plot twist as Gala and Natalie find out who spread those unkind words.

Steady for This
This book is very interesting because as someone who enjoys books, this book was thoughtfully written for this generation.

Mosaddeq

Crossing the Line
It was a very good book and I felt pity for Erik as he was only 12 and got lured in to unpleasant actions.

Hibba

The Song Walker
I loved how this book described the settings. It was a fast read and the friendship between the characters were very well written.

Emma

The Boy Lost in the Maze
This book was creative because it let us decide our own choice and had a lot of freedom for the readers. This book also had a lot of mysteries, and it was very interesting to continue reading to find out more.

Mante

The Song Walker
This book is good, i liked the way the author told the story from the perspective of the main character who barely renebered who she was or anything about herself, as well as that the way friendship was portrayed is actually accurate to real life, and lots of secrets are kept. The storyline itself is also very good.

Safiyyah's War
I would rate Safiyyah's War 9/10 stars because I like her generosity and her kindness towards others that she learned from her family. I also like the narrative and how its based on WW2 as I'm interested in History.

Safiyyah's War
Safiyyah's War. Out of 10 stars: 0.5 stars. On paper it sounds good but your expectations don't meet. It bores you half way through and the children are like nowadays historians. Personally, I don't recommend this book. I don't often like to read war books as it is always serious and has a set perspective of being a soldier in the frontline or a witness of the disasters. A very disappointing book, especially as I thought I would enjoy it as its subject was WW2. Bland is how I would describe this. This book, though enticing, lost most of its potential from the method in which it approached the situation within it, with a soft method as if it were attempting to be safe with a situation which must be faced head-first.

Choose Love
Choose Love is a powerful and emotive collection of poetry, reflecting the lives and experiences of refugees stranded in Calais. I wasn’t sold on the cover artwork for this book, and I didn’t immediately see the relevance of it. I tried to put myself in their position and felt an ache in my heart as I did. These children have a lot of courage. In my opinion, the book tries to tell us that some countries need our help, that a lot of people are slowly but surely dying from the impact of climate change and war. I got that I am a luck girl, and I should not complain over small stuff when children my age are enduring much worse than me. I think other readers might feel sympathy for the children in the book too. Choose Love was a wonderful book full of happiness and sadness. It revealed the story of a refugee and his life. Every poem in this book told a story, a memory of something that had passed away, the pictures of course made the story even more real. All the poems were unique and different, which made the whole book come to life. It was a short read, but it will stick with me for life, I think it may have to be one of my favourites and I would highly recommend it for anyone who loves poems and short reads. Overall, I would rate this book a massive 8.5/10.

Away With Words
‘Away with Words’ is a well written and interesting book. It centre's around 13-year-old Gala who has moved to Fortrose in Scotland from the town of Cadaqués in Spain. She has issues with English and eventually makes friend with a girl called Natalie who has Selective Mutism, she takes spoken words and makes poems out of them. I very much like how this book includes people with autism as well as LGBTQ+ as pretty much main characters. The way they explored the topics of social anxiety and selective mutism was very good as they can be sensitive subjects. I would 78% recommend to anyone, specifically those aged 13-18.Overall I would give this book a 6.85/10.

The Boy Lost in the Maze
This novel is not the best and was not that well-reserched to start with, also it was kind of confusing what the author meant at times so it was not a good book for me.It just was not for me at all. I found it highly-boring. The characters could/should have been developed so much more. For the Carnegie's Medal I think this book doesn't deserve it... Overall, I would not recommend you this book as a whole. However, if you have great interest in poems, greek myths and legends this is a perfect book for you. Preferably, I would rate this book 2/10.

Away With Words
Away With Words' is a very good book. It talks about how a friendship grew without needing to speak all the time and how sitting in silence can bring beautiful things too.The story is intriguing due to the fantasy element of physically picking up words and how careless or incredible words can be. Another success in the book was Gala’s personal growth which is inspiring to all readers and makes for an entertaining read for all.Overall,I would rate this book 6.85/10...

Crossing the Line
An extemely powerful book.Erik is a believable character caught up in the world of drug dealing on the streets after the rest of his life becomes out of control after his father's sudden and tragic death. It is written in narrative verse and it totally grasped my attention. It is clearly structed nicely with fits the theme perfectly. Very well researched. This is a book that is worth reading, whoever you are to better understand sections of the society in which we live.Erik was a really intriguing character, and many of the things that happened to him, are things that will also have happened to other people, so bringing them to light is amazing. Even though, this was a tough one to read, it was well-written and it is captivating. It is a one-of-a-kind book. Overall, I would give this book 7.5/10.

Steady for This
This book was hilarious and insipring. Very captivating and an excellent read.It included awarness of mental health/wellbeing.I really liked Karen, Shaun's school counsellor, as a role of a therapist. I thoroughly enjoyed real-life situations such as when Shanks said," I don't want to become a rapper. I was just scared you wouldn't be my friend". This quote was heart-touching and can be felt by anyone in this world. It contained deep themes of peer pressure and social inequality. It is definitely a must-read. On the other hand, this book had many slang words and there was not much use of linguistic language devices. However, it was a laugh-out-loud delight, packed with sharp wit and ethical dilemmas. It had a recipe of an outrageously funny and a pure reading pleasure. Overall, I would rate this thrilling book a massive 8.5/10.

The Door of No Return
This book was a 8-star out of 10.It was very spellbinding and entertaining from the beginning to end. It revealed the hidden history of Africa; how people were affected because of their background. It was quite remarkable to learn about the Dark past set in the 1800's.We now should learn from our past mistakes and reflect upon them."History repeats itself"

The Song Walker
A very entralling book throughout the beginning and end. It engaged the reader and grabbed my attention fully. Such an exceptional book.I love that I could see into her mindset and read exactly what she was feeling when she thought out situations. Her thoughts flowed really well and moved the book along very quickly. Bethell's narrative voice is quite amazing. She is serious at times, but also very witty, which makes for an engaging read. Also, I would like to comment on the friendship between Tarni and Sienna was a strong bond and taught me more about friendship... And as once someone said," Friendship is a sheltering tree." Overall, It was an amazing must-read book!

The Door of No Return
I really struggled to keep reading this book. Seems like a 'worthy' theme, but I had to drag myself through the story as the plot and characters didn't 'grab' me.
