St Cath’s Shadowing

The book was very scary at first. I liked it because Matt came out as gay and wasn't ashamed. But I felt very sorry for Matt as he was taking drugs and being threatened by his brother's mysterious friend who uses and exploits kids on social media.

Glasgow Boys
This book annoyed me at the start because of the dialect that I had to read ALOUD to understand. However, I liked it because the boys even though they had a hard start in life didn't dwell on it for long and moved on to making friends and a new family.
Abigail
Little Bang
The book made me feel angry because the pregnant mother went to abort the child without telling the father of the child. Also, because she got defensive about aborting the child without his permission making it seem like it was his fault when he literally took time of SCHOOL to work to make money for baby things. I also didn't like the book because I don't want people to think they can have sex irresponsibly and just abort.
Abigail
Treacle Town
I didn't really like this book as much because there is a lot of death and sadness in the book such as when Connor's mum kills herself. There's also a LOT of violence and gangs and also a lot of people wanting revenge for the loved ones they've lost.
Abigail
King of Nothing
l really liked this book because it talks about the effects of peer pressure and bad influences. I also liked it because it talks about Anton when he's with bad influences and good influences and the difference is quite clear.

King of Nothing
Nathanael Lessore does an excellent job in speaking to the masses of today about a prevalent issue of today's society - toxic masculinity. He creates a powerful lens using his perspective of the main character, Anton, that compels readers to consider the demands placed on men: the constant need to "man up." The novel centres on Anton's internal conflict as he tries to balance being true to himself and upholding his reputation that society has deemed necessary for survival. Slowly but surely, he begins to see the cracks of this notion, and he's soon forced to choose. Will Anton follow his heart, or will he succumb to the weight of societal expectations?
