Birdie
I didn't really have high hopes for this book when I first saw it, another girl from my group had read it before me and I thought that I wouldn't really like it. Surprisingly, I actually loved this book and rated it a 9.8/10 in my club session. It hasn't been my favourite so far because some bits were too slow but I would recommend it to people who love animals, brave characters who take on dangerous things for others and also just that really nice feeling of a book when you really just know it was a good book. I also liked how J.P Rose wrote this book to allow readers to understand discrimination in not a very heavy way. There are lots of sad scenes that really hit deep but overall I loved it! Just to say, my first concern about this book before I read was that I did NOT want the horse to speak! And it didn't! I can't handle talking animals. Would recommend to read!! Enjoy!

Fia and the Last Snow Deer
This book was alright but overall I felt like it was very mixed paced because it is really slow at some points and then suddenly gets faster. I do not know how I felt about this book because just like the pace, my feelings about it are mixed.

Ghostlines
This book was alright and I did like the end but I felt like the beginning was a little boring and basic. However, I loved the nice ending.

Birdie
I loved this book soooooooo much!! It was really heartwarming and I really felt a connection towards Birdie and the love she felt for Mr Duke. The end totally broke my heart and I was almost crying when I turned the final page. I loved the name Mr Duke and I felt that it gave a fun personality to the horse. I also loved the fact that Birdie started making friends and people were not being mean to her anymore because she was able to stand up for herself. I honestly feel like this book will win because of the way that it stays with you long after you have turned the final page. 10/10!

Songs for Ghosts
Before reading, Songs For Ghosts was a seemingly evocative YA novel I held in high regard, just from reading the blurb. It was within the first 3 pages that my expectations were crushed, and it only went downhill as I further progressed. I felt the characters in Adam's life, and the protagonist himself, weren't fleshed out enough, with every line of dialogue sounding like the same speaker - it made it difficult for me to empathise with him, despite the cultural identity crisis many may relate to. Reading the diary entries, to me, the woman's experiences and feelings could have been delved into deeper, yet never grew into anything substantial that I could truly sympathise with. While her character development was clear, I didn't find myself congratulating her. Furthermore, the book heavily lacked world-building and description. Nagasaki, Japan is a historically rich country with beautiful landscapes, but I still didn't find myself immersed. For these reasons, I give it a 3/10 for a great plot betrayed by weak writing.

Shrapnel Boys
This book was my absolute favorite and I really loved it. I loved the action, the drama, the rivalry, the friendship and just really everything. This book is great for people who love action mixed with history. It also shows the ways people can get mixed up into trouble and this book makes it even more interesting when Micky gets lured in by Johnny. I would definitely recommend this book and I am so happy that I finally found a book I will remember forever after some failed attempts of trying to find a good book. I rate this 10/10 and even more!

The Spick and the Span
I absolutely loved The Spick and the Span!! I loved all of the magic and wizardry in it. I honestly felt that it compared to climate change and how we need to protect our world because the magicians weren't taking care of their world and then it got consumed by the nixes. I would rate this book a 10/10 because it was exciting and engaging, it kept me hanging on to my seat until the last page.

Wolf Siren
I thought this book was absolutely stunning! It had a very exciting plot. I liked the huge plot twist at the end. This book had themes of adventure, wildlife, family and animals. 10/10

Fia and the Last Snow Deer
My thoughts on this book is that it is a little slow paced especially in the middle(the part where Fia,Solas and Mish are travelling)to the point where it gets a bit repetitive and I didn't really Fia's character in the beginning where I felt she was a bit rude but towards the end I started to like her character. The ending was satisfying in my opinion. On a positive note,I liked the layout of the book very much,it felt easy to read(so easy that I read the whole book in 4 days!),but if you do not like pictures this is not the book for you because there is a lot of pictures,I also liked the shadows and the deer antler plot,I did feel a bit scared when I thought Mish and Solas were going to meet their fate. Overall,I enjoyed the book very much and I would give it an 8.5/10.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
I loved this book because it was so funny and had very imaginative characters! I especially loved the character Miel for his friendliness. This book is perfect for readers who love cartoon-like action and adventure as well as a little bit of history. (Don't worry, they make the history very funny!) I rate this book a 9.8/10!

Popcorn
I loved this book! It covered very emotional and serious themes while also being funny in it's own way. It is about a boy who only wants a perfect school picture for his mum but his day ends up going horribly wrong.
