King of Nothing
I really enjoyed the humour in this book. It was written with sensitivity and empathy for the characters and their differences. I found myself willing Anton to make the right choices but understanding why that was so difficult given his circumstances. A quick and enjoyable read.

All That It Ever Meant
I was confused in the beginning and slow to begin enjoying the content. The characters are distinctive and recognizable as a family grieving their loss. The way each person deals with it is relatable and your heart goes out to them. I particularly enjoyed Meticais who added flair to the narrative. The ending was surprising and touching.

The Final Year
Little bang by Kelly McCaughrain is a thoughtful and emotional novel that handles complex and controversial themes such as teen pregnancy, gender roles, and personal autonomy with sensitivity and insight. The characters are both authentic and relatable, and the writing is heartfelt and grounded. However, the book takes a considerable amount of time to get to the main plot, with early chapters feeling slow and somewhat boring. While this build up eventually pays off by deepening the emotional stakes, readers may find themselves wishing the main event had been introduced sooner. Still, once the story finds its footing, it delivers a powerful and meaningful narrative that's well worth the wait.

Little Bang
Overall, the book was quite hard for me to read as I had my own strong opinions about abortion. It could be where the book was written and what it was about. Mel's decision to abort the baby was quite disappointing to me because everyone was willing to help. However, I loved the book as it challenged my personal point of view.

King of Nothing
Although a boring piece of reading at the beginning of the book, the book quickly builds storyline and emotional connection to the influences and impacts to his life, through how toxic masculinity impacts millions of boys and men globally.

The Final Year
It is a very good book. It is a book that you can get through in less than a week. . It's about a little boy at the end of year five and he is very excited to start his final year at primary school. I think this book would be a good transition from graphic novels as it's a short read. I enjoyed this book.

Treacle Town
Treacle Town is an interesting story picking up the topic of gang violence. However, it has too many swear words to influence or interest me and as a result of the inconsistent storyline I did not enjoy it.

Little Bang
Little Bang is an incredible read for those who want to open their minds to the lives of those struggling with decisions about pregnancy. Although I found it hard to relate to either of the characters, I enjoyed this book.

This might be a good book. However, I do not like this book since it does not fit the type of story I find interesting.

Glasgow Boys
The exemplary, emotional read powerfully explores the social divide of individuals lost in the family and education system. Glasgow boys, although mild at the beginning, quickly becomes heavily emotional as the reader connects strongly to the two boys over the 30+ chapters to read. Amazing book and a powerful read.

The Things We Leave Behind
I didn't really enjoy the book because there wasn't much escapism in there, it was too realistic. The structure was kind of complicated and a bit confusing. It wasn't my best read since I couldn't really relate to any of the characters.

The Final Year
I absolutely loved this book. From the entertaining way it is presented and written, to the voice of Nate and his interesting mind. Paying clear tribute to the wonderful 'Skellig', this is a sweet and honest story about the final years of Primary School. I sobbed!

Little Bang
What a poignant novel exploring difficult topics of under-age relations and abortion. I was pleasantly surprised by the humility and relatableness of Sid and Mel. You find yourself rooting for unlikely characters and considering your own perspective on the topics. Very easy to read and one to get through in a weekend. I really enjoyed this book.

Glasgow Boys
I was not looking forward to reading this book but I absolutely loved it. I was so invested in the characters, who were believable, vulnerable, and drew me in from the first chapter. Finlay and Banjo have such depth and you find yourself rooting for them, hoping each will find the happiness that they deserve. My eyes 'leaked' in the last few chapters and I may even read it again some day.

Treacle Town
I did not enjoy this book at all. I found the excessive use of bad language unnecessary and I could not invest in the characters. The characters lacked depth, and although the story reflects real life for some young people, there were few lighter moments that could have endeared the characters to the reader.

The Final Year
This book was written with honesty but was rather fast-paced. Nate is recognizable as a child on the outer perimeter and you can empathize with his situation. I think young children will enjoy this book and feel a connection with the character.

Little Bang
This book really highlights the difference between the way each of the two characters thinks, and how the prospect of abortion affects them differently. It was a good read and one that young people should read to understand how young girls are disproportionately affected by teenage pregnancy.
