The Final Year
I thoroughly enjoyed this book for many reasons, one was how it was structured, it had a very fun way to it that kept me engaged whilst reading because it was a nice change from most books that have the same lettering every page which could easily bore a child out of reading it. Another thing I found interesting is the theme, when I first found the book on the Carnegie section and read the blurb I wanted to read it because struggling with friends in year 6 was also a problem for me, so I immediately sympathized with Nate's situation which I'm sure many others would too. So overall it was a great read and I would recommend it to many others too.

Treacle Town
Treacle town is an interesting story where a boy who lives a life in danger and full of adventures. But however, it is not a happy or an easy read, but it is worth reading because it is full of more 8ntresting and adventurous stories. If we read through each chapter it full of suspense. I really liked how the story is developed and how he completely changes his character. Treacle town is a book of violence, grief and poetry. It is also a book with death, murder, knife crime etc..

King of Nothing
The fiction novel King Of Nothing written by Nathanael Lessore is based on boy who comes across as a roadman at first, called Anton. He is the son to a mother referred to as miss charles and to a father is no longer in the outside world. Anton lives with his mother and nanna and is king of year 9 and pretty much the whole school, so no one dares to mess with him knowing who his father is. Anton likes to keep this reputation with the MANDEM[his whole gang of friends who hangs around with at school, after causing chaos Anton and his mates are in the detention room after school. Shortly after his arrival home his mum is disappointed with her sons actions so cuts his internet for a whole month, However Anton is not happy with this consequence so he speaks to his mother to see what he can do to get internet, His mother tells him that he must join the happy campers and if he sticks to it she will consider giving his internet back so Anton eventually agrees. the following Wednesday is his first meeting with the campers where he meets this loser/loner from his school, Anton isnt bothered about making friends because it might ruin his reputation. when he goes on a camping trip he nearly dies but luckily Mathew was there to save his life. when he gets home and gets his wifi back, his mother gives him a warning and news that his father has been released from prison. Anton and Mathew later on become mates and go on a double date with Fernanda being Mathews date and Rochelle being Antons date. The following week Antons nanna dies from internal bleeding.... I really liked the book when i got into it because it got me on suspense continuously wondering what would happen next. I believe that this book has a true moral to it saying that anyone can change to who they want to be no matter what you have done in the past.

Little Bang
Kelly McCaughrain’s novel, "Little Bang" is a young adult novel set in 2018 Northern Ireland, a time when abortion was still illegal. The story follows Mel, a diligent science enthusiast from a strict Catholic family, and Sid, an aspiring musician with a rebellious streak, who find themselves facing an unplanned pregnancy after their first date on New Year's Eve. This event forces them to navigate through complex personal and societal challenges, exploring themes of choice, responsibility, and the contrasting pressures from their families. The narrative is presented through dual perspectives which enables its readers to understand both Mel and Sid's experiences. This authentic approach captures the raw emotions of a teenage pregnancy. Although, abortion is a contentious subject the story balances this theme with compassion, sensitivity and moments of humour making it both engaging and emotional.

All That It Ever Meant
I would prefer this to my friends because it is a story of Father and child after their mother died left England to Zimbabwe in a road trip. Then she meets a friend there, (her name is Meticais). This is a type of book that I mostly recommend to every year even to young people because this book teach us a life life story of a father and a child without there mother. It would be a nightmare!! without a mother.

The Things We Leave Behind
"The Things We Leave Behind" is a really touching piece that looks at the stuff we carry with us in life and the things we decide to leave behind. It’s all about the memories, relationships, and choices that shape who we are. The author paints a picture of how our past can linger in the form of certain objects or people that bring back strong feelings. It makes you think about what’s truly important to you and how those choices can affect your future. There’s a lot of emotion in it, touching on themes like nostalgia and loss. It reminds us that even if we move on from certain things, they still have a way of influencing us. In the end, it encourages us to reflect on our own lives and consider what we cherish and what we might be ready to let go of as we grow.

King of Nothing
This book was a beautiful experience. It pulled me in like a riptide and made me forget I was reading. It is beautiful in a way mere ink on paper has no right to be. It is real, raw, and powerful: like the waves of the ocean. This book was, quite simply, amazing. Reading this book was a beautiful feeling. Anton's charcter development, Matthew's gradual trust, etc. was a beautiful journey I am to have been a part of. Nathaniel Lessore's writing is legendary and his books are exemplary. I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat. 10/10.
