Wolf Siren
I liked reading this and felt that it effectively covered important topics and taboos while also combining it with magic and fantasy to make it a story with a parallel to reality but also an escape to another world

The Boy I Love
I really enjoyed this book and felt that it perfectly captivated my interest. I found myself being affected by this and my emotions were strung along

Popcorn
The representation of anxiety was very well done with a good mix of narrative and illustrations. It showed a great plotline with the resolution being incredibly heart warming.

Rachel

Birdie
I really loved the unique storyline combined with an amazing representation of the realities of living with racism! It was full of emotion throughout and the ending had me on the edge of my seat.

Wolf Siren
Wolf siren is a really inventive way of reimagining some of the elements of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. I like the way that no matter what happens to the protagonist throughout, she never stops trying to save her family and the forest. It also puts equality into a fantasy perspective that younger people can connect with in a really effective way. Good pace throughout and I would recommend.

Not Going To Plan
I loved reading this book, the author has effectively captured teenage emotions through the struggles, challenges and recoveries of the 2 main characters. I also really enjoyed the verse-style presentation and how often throughout the book the writer used inventive ways of using words to make images. I like how the author used the idea of standing up for what you believe in as the key element behind this book. Would definitely recommend.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
It was a very fun and easy read, I enjoyed the themes of friendship and the illustrations were very fun. I think if I was a few years younger, I would have enjoyed it more as it was likely targeted at primary school children but overall very nice book.

Twenty Four Seconds from Now
This book was a really good book for teenagers. It helped to show how teenagers think and also portrayed quite a bit about culture and behaviours around high school children. I found it really informative and also a great way for teens to grow their understanding of these topics. It also explores family and romantic relationships and all the ways these have impacts on young people. It shows the ways that young people feel around family relationships and also friends. I thought it was a great book

Not Going To Plan
I overall really liked the story and the characters, but I wasn't a fan of how the book was written with the text being aligned to one side of the page to resemble a character, for me, I find it difficult to read like that. However, the plot was brilliant and, if it was presented in a way that I personally preferred, then it would be even better.

Twenty Four Seconds from Now
I really enjoyed this book, I love how the author has written the novel and made it feel realistic (and I would say relatable, but I have never been in this situation, but I feel like for someone who has, it would feel like they can relate to the characters). However, I feel like parts of it tend to drag on, in a way. But, overall, I liked this book a lot!

Birdie
I loved this book. From the character developments to the strong friendship between human and animal. The author perfectly writes about the hardship of surviving constant discrimination and racism, yet at the same time slowly adds character development with the small yet kind actions of the main character Birdie. The strong bond that Birdie and Mr Duke really makes you appreciate how those two have each others back, protecting each other when one of them was in danger.

Wolf Siren
it was a very interesting read with good pacing, the representation of menstruation and women's struggles or feeling out of place made the story more powerful and helps normalize these feelings. overall very good read would recommend.

Not Going To Plan
A book that describes problems with society very well, with many people's different views and the togetherness in the ending. However, I didn't like the way the book was structured, as I felt like I hindered me from actually focusing more on the plot. More like me figuring out how to actually read the book. Despite this, the book also serves to be very informational and helpful to those in struggling.

Popcorn
An interesting read that perfectly enraptures the feeling of the gradual buildup. Slowly leading to the moment where you *POP*. However, I felt that some events seemed a bit too out of place in the story, though the tension in the book a much more exciting read.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
A entertaining book, though I found it to be quite random in some aspects such as the involvement of France on a lizards knee. I liked the subtle inclusion of some more mature aspects and themes such as depression with the Mother, making it seem more lighthearted and summarizing it in a really well and thought out way. However, the story didn't seem to include a really well structured plot that i found a bit confusing to read. But as a whole the book was a great read.

Wolf Siren
Enjoyed the book very much, the fantasy and wonder of being able to transform into a wolf mixed with the end of bitterness when it comes to the loss of a family member made me tear up. Amazing plot, as the mystery makes you want to read on more and more.
