Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
The chronicles of a Lizard Nobody is a good book in my opinion because it is silly. It's not overly silly, but just the right amount. I think that it uses that silly-vibe to disguise grander things, and I think the author does that to educate people about them in a funny way. Like Pelicarnassus' bullying, bullying is a thing that happens daily to thousands, but still, people don't bother to understand or stop bullying.

The Boy I Love
I kind of enjoyed this book as I struggled reading the text as it was really small. The story was really interesting and enjoyable. I would rate this book 4/5 stars.

The Boy I Love
I really like the boy I love because it touches on the LGBTQ+ community (specifically gays) in a time where it was punishable by death. I also like it because of how good the characters are. I feel like every character was very thought out and not made up as you go. Most of the characters have a backstory, like Danny, he was adopted by his aunt after his mother's death and was brought up around performance life from then on. I really like how the author touches on how these types of backstories change someone.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
Lizard Nobody wasn't my favourite book of the Carnegies but it was quite fun . the idea of them being the school janitors was really good and interesting over all I would rate it a 7/10!
Tallulah
Twenty Four Seconds from Now
I think 24 Seconds From Now is a good book because it touches on how boys get vulnerable and have worries as well. I like this because, although I'm not a boy, I know a lot of pressure falls on men specifically in a relationship, but also just in life. Most people believe that men are supposed to be strong, and never falter, but I like how this book shows that that's not always the case.

Ghostlines
I enjoyed this book as it was adventurous and it really showed how curious Tilda is and how well she knows her home. I think this inspired me to help make friends as people can change the more you get to know them.

The Boy I Love
When I first picked up The Boy I Love, I was expecting a dreary read, one I would have to read quickly to just get through it. Others I know had told me it was good, but I read all the time, and believed it would not be as good as the (many) books I read for pleasure, which are generally ya romantasy and sci-fi/ dystopian. However, this immediately delighted me. Not only is it a riveting, emotional love story, it is a wonderfully descriptive World War 1 story. Having read a lot of historical books, including a good few from Michael Morpurgo, most are about World War 2, or other events in history. Honestly, I believe that the first world war is often overlooked in history lessons and such, and this was absolutely eye-opening. Its two intertwining plots kept me in my seat and brought me close to tears. I absolutely love this book, and would 100% vote for this in the awards. William Hussey has written an outstanding book. The emotions contained in this book are incredible. The way the author has included the lost stories of soldiers are heart-rending and I believe that this part of history is really important in the way we live today. The companionship between the soldiers, and the bond between Danny and Steven have echoed the relationships that exist in the world today. This book has even changed the way I view myself, as I can now see my sexuality in a positive light and helped me to be proud of who I am.
Don't be afraid to be different.

Not Going To Plan
I really enjoyed not going to plan its was a very sad but interesting book and the way the writing was laid out really intrigued me as I have never seen a piece of text shown like that! I would rate it a 9.5/10!!!

Ghostlines
At first I was hesitant about this book but as soon as I started reading it I could not put it down. It was such a magical book it made me feel like part of the community on Ayrie. This book is a must read its so good! I loved the theme of hope and the journey Tilda and Albie went on together. Will definitely read it again.

The Boy I Love
I connected with this book on an emotional level. Danny was well portrayed with a real love for Stephen. His PTSD was portrayed beautifully. I adored this as it was a good representation of gay love in times of wide spread Homophobia.

Twenty Four Seconds from Now
I would have to admit I didn't really like this book as it wasn't really my style of book that I like, but I did really like the way this book was layed out. I would rate this book 3/5 stars.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
I really liked this book, one thing I liked was the funny cartoon illustrations. There was a lot of interesting and hillarious plot twists. I would rate this 5/5 stars.

Wolf Siren
This book was very creative and I liked the consistent theme of maturity. The characters were unique such as the grandma in the woods, who had a interesting backstory which pulled me in.

Not Going To Plan
I think Not Going To Plan is a really good book because it touches on subjects people try to avoid, but they really aren't something you can just avoid. One of the subjects is teen pregnancy, which for every 1000 births, 13.6 of them are teen pregnancies (aged 15-19). It also talks about abortions and how many people view them, like Marnie's friend Rakel believes abortion is wrong because of her faith. I think the fact that the author wasn't scared to write about these subjects shows how great of a writer she is.

Twenty Four Seconds from Now
It is a good book about a teenager called Neon in which he is with his girl and he hides in his bathroom nervous, not sure about what to do. Overall it is a good book and I think it is good for the type of book it is.
Charlie
Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
It is a good book set in Primary School where 3 friends called Zeke , Daniel and Alicia become hall monitors and their archnemesis Pelicarnassus builds a big robot suit of a pelican to try and counteract the strength of the hall monitors. I like it 9 out of 10

Birdie
I really enjoyed this book as it was really moving, but also upsetting. The only bad thing I would say about this book is that it wasn't really my style of book, but still it was really enjoyable. I really felt empathy for Birdie when she was bullied. I would rate this three stars.
Matilda
Ghostlines
Ghost lines was an beautifully descriptive story about life on the tight knit island called 'Ayrie'. I loved that it felt like there was a lot of backstory between all of the characters and that they knew each other well. I loved this because of her relationship with Albie and desperation to keep him on the island because she failed to do this with her brother. 9/10
Lilly
Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
I like the book because it could show some parts of bulling and could help some people who are being bullied. I would recommend it to young people because it is a story with animals as all of the characters and it has a lot of pictures in it.

Twenty Four Seconds from Now
Having read 24 Seconds From Now, I believe I now have a deeper understanding about sex and consent. I really love how the author presents this book, as he gives us a personal, heart-felt backstory behind the time a boy loses his virginity. Personally, I would not have picked up this book, and I'm really grateful to have this opportunity to read it. Although I was doubtful at first, this book really developed and connected with the reader.
I 100% recommend this book to other shadowing Carnegie groups, and I would encourage them to look past the front cover and blurb, and I genuinely hope they will enjoy it as much as me.

Birdie
I was slightly disappointed with Birdie. The plot line didn't really go anywhere and it got quite boring at points. Birdie, the main character, was nonsensically stubborn and got in high danger that risked herself and her family so much that it didn't seem right. Her aunt and uncle seemed to just let her go wherever she liked, and then get really annoyed when she came back. Birdie could just skip school and do whatever she liked, and didn't get into trouble that much. However, the setting was described very well and I loved how the author brought historical facts and events into the story. The ending, though, felt a little bit like a children's story, everything and everyone was happy and alive even though the actions of the main character were so dangerous. I would rate it about 3/10

It's a good book because it shows a person going through anxiety showing the challenges of it all through the book.

Wolf Siren
Wolf siren is a mesmerising book that tells the enchanting story of a girl who feels like she doesn't fit in. It's take on the little red riding hood is really lovely, bringing fantasy and injustice into the storytale. I really loved it and highly recommend it. The character detail was really great and the setting was highly described!!!!!

Not Going To Plan
I really enjoyed Not Going To Plan. I loved the way the book was set out. Its full of heart-felt moments where you feel connected to the characters. When I first picked up this book I thought I wouldn't enjoy it, but I was definitely proved wrong!
Ava
Ghostlines
I think it's a really good book because it's set on an island where people come to stay. When a boy named Albie comes to stay he finds everything boring. I like the book because it's set with normal people on a made-up island.

Wolf Siren
I really enjoyed Wolf Siren, its my absolute favourite so far! I love the idea of doing a twist on a fairy-tale story. I like the way Wolf Siren keeps the idea of fairy-tale in the book by making the woods magical but mixing a idea of "real life" into it. I also thought the book had a amazing range of vocabulary. I felt some of the story line was unnecessary but its a good book overall. I will definitely read again!

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
It's a fantastic book, I like it because it is very exciting and unexpected, but also shares good messages, but also deals with mental problems like Zeke's mum having depression (known as the black dog). It is also interesting how the entire cast of characters are animals that have realistic qualities, like an eagle being blind.
Overall, great read and I would recommend.

Wolf Siren
I loved the atmosphere of this book, the fantasy was very interesting and the fact that the main character had issues with her eyesight made her feel unique and made me feel connected to her even more. The way that the emotional scenes were written was so intriguing. I didn't expect certain things that happened; later, I realised how so many things were foreshadowing it. I loved: the characters, the setting and the plot of this book so much as they were incredibly well written.

Ghostlines
I really enjoyed this book. I especially liked when Albie and Tilda paddle to the haunted island and they have to maneuver around rocks. Adding on, I really liked the night where they released the puffins towards the moon. I also liked the text size it was very easy to read. It's a perfect size for a nice read. It feels very magical and special to imagine that island. There is a map of the island at the front of the book to see how big the island is and where all the things they go to are.

Not Going To Plan
I really enjoyed reading this book as it was such an emotional and moving story. I really liked the way the text was placed like how on some pages the text would be in a swirl or upside down and it would always surprise me where the text was. If I was to rate this book I would rate it 5 stars as it was really fun to read!

The Boy I Love
I really enjoyed this book, it had a really enjoyable story and I finished this in one sitting. It had really good description of the surrounding and I loved the setting, it was really sad but showed the reality of WW1 extremely well. The build-up was great and what happened at the end was so unexpected but interesting. Overall, the book had a great atmosphere, had characters that I was invested in and I loved the setting and story so much. The romance between the two main characters was different from the typical romance you see and was so intriguing and very well built up. It left me wanting more.

Not Going To Plan
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, with its impactful message and relatable topics. I found it very meaningful and memorable, and it affected me emotionally, letting me understand people in Marnie's position and realise the hardship they go through. It has opened me up to these things, and I will never forget this book. It is extraordinary; I have learnt a lot from it. The plot line is amazing. In particular, I really enjoyed the way the text was laid out, making it an engaging and unusual read.
