Treacle Town
Treacle Town is a very unique reading experience it is slightly difficult to read because it uses modern slang. The emotional story of Connor encapsulates the loss of his friend and his constant quarrels with his unapologetic father.
Its an interesting read but in my opinion it was easy to get lost in the plotline.

The Final Year
This book is an amazing insight on the life of a year 6 boy who already struggles with anxiety. When his youngest brother, Dylan, falls very ill from a heart disease, Nate finds his life take a very dark turn and school isn't helping but Mr Joshua is helping Nate overcome it all. I give this book a 9/10.

The Things We Leave Behind
This book was really powerful and emotional. I liked how it showed the bond between the sisters and how scary the world around them felt. It made me think about how quickly things can change and how important it is to stand up for what’s right. It was sad in parts, but also really gripping—I couldn’t stop reading! the plot twist near the end was so unexpected and I really really enjoyed getting into bed at night and reading this amazing book.

The Final Year
I am reviewing the book "Final Year" by Matt Goodfellow.
The book is about a kid called Nate, who is going through a rough patch in life. In this journey, he has problems with friends and family. Happily, things aren't too bad for him as he has people there for him on his tough journey as characters like his teacher Mr Joshua. Overall, I found this book very pleasant, emotive and realistic but I also do believe the book could be better if it wasn't written in verse and rate it a 6\10

Treacle Town
Personally, I struggled with all the slang and swearing that goes on in the book but overall I did like the book, but just probably wouldn't read it again (not saying you shouldn't read it).

Little Bang
This book is very interesting. Little Bang captivates readers as it talks about how challenging relationships are-especially as a teenager. This book truly shows how hard and harsh life can really be; how making choices can be immensely difficult. Little Bang takes people reading on an emotional roller coaster, overwhelming us with the feeling of sadness, anger, joy and so much more. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it for others to enjoy.

All That It Ever Meant
This book is really emotional. It was really interesting, I like how the author adds in flashbacks, it really adds more depth to the story. It is also very interesting how everyone deals with their grief in the story. I couldn't believe what happened at the end! Even though it is not my favorite, I quite liked this book!

It shows us his personal issues and his family life. The boy, Anton, gets into trouble at school a lot and his family decide to get him into work (working at a local community service ) .

All That It Ever Meant is an amazing book with many different family challenges like, family fights and more. One of the things that surprised me the most was definitely the ending (but I won't spoil anything if your planning on reading it). I would definitely recommend if you're looking for something new and different to read. Overall I loved it!

The Things We Leave Behind
This book was a thrilling adventure of a teenage girl and her little sister trying to survive when they have to flee their home in London. I found this book a good read as it had you on the edge of your seat at numerous points but also had points you would find yourself happy for Clem and her sister Billie.

Little Bang
Little bang is an amazing book about characters who are teenagers that are figuring out relationships and it is emotional and all about love. It is about the characters Mel and Sid who get pregnant on their first date. This book was very enjoyable and fun to read. Where Mel and Sid are, abortion was illegal so they didn't know what to do.

King of Nothing
In the beginning, I found the language in this book a little bit hard to understand but when I read the book more it was really funny. It was also really interesting how Anton and Mathews relationship developed through the book. In conclusion I really liked this book. Would recommend.

The Things We Leave Behind
The book I am reviewing is "The Things We Leave Behind". I found it fascinating as there was constant use of emotive language; it speaks about the sad and tragic things we see today and the battle of escaping them. Since it was very slow paced at times I rate it overall a bang average of 6/10.

Glasgow Boys
I would rate this book a 8/10.
This book shows how difficult the care system can be and could be relatable to people who could have been in the care system.

This book was the first book I ever read that had been written from a young school boys POV! The details were amazing and the story just added more flavour to the pot of amazing things I can say about this book I rate it 8/10

King of Nothing
I loved this book, it was great to see Anton slowly change from being misogynistic, being in a gang, not appreciating his nan and mums effort and slowly stepping away from Kehinde and becoming best friends with Matthew. There are so many interesting and fun side plots and characters such as Anton's relationships with his dad: he is a man who was in prison for punching someone, Anton looked up to him and kids at school where scared of him because of what his dad did. Anton liked being seen as a kid who had a dad in prison because nobody would mess with him. Once Anton meets his dad he realizes he is a weak, misogynistic man. Overall, I think this book is an amazing read.

The Final Year
Very uniquely written book. Personally not my cup of tea but some may enjoy it. The plot is shocking and the structure of the writing is hard to read though honestly. The raw descriptions of real life situations are accurate and the writer does portray that well. Younger audiences are more likely to enjoy it but to be honest its not my favorite.

The Final Year
This book was very different from any book I've ever read before. The structure of the pages was very short and genuinely hard to read . Although the plot is very heartbreaking and realistic there were many questions in my head as to what it was actually saying. This isn't personally my favorite book but I believe younger audiences would enjoy.

King of Nothing
I would give the book a 7-8 out of 10 it has strong language and yet has gentle scenes its perfect for people who like violence but also like comedy and strong friendships and relationships. I liked the book because it relates to secondary school students and young men which is perfect for around that age level.

Little Bang
Beautifully written with very realistic situations including teenage relationships and young pregnancy. It shows the hardships that Mel and Sid had to overcome throughout . This is a important topic that young people need to be aware of and this book shows it in such a respectful way, showing both sides of this very important decision and the way it would affect the rest of Mels life. I really love how they displayed different sides of Mel through the parents: Mels parents wanted to keep it, Sids didn't. It shows the two clashing sides of her life. Does she want to keep the baby and raise it for the rest of her life? Does she want to continue her education and abort it? At the end of the day it was her choice and Kelly McCaughrain made sure the reader understood that.

Little Bang
This book was amazingly written with very relatable topics such as accidental young pregnancy and the struggles that come along with it whilst also talking about the abortion ban in her country which makes it even harder for Mel to get through her pregnancy. The two characters Mel and Sid are very different and come from completely opposite backgrounds but it shows what they really are like inside and how people are judged from the way they look and not what they're like on the inside. My favorite thing about the book was definitely how you see their relationship adjust and change due to their circumstances but they were still strong and fought through everything and how it could motivate other people with similar struggles and help them get through their life. this was an beautiful book I thoroughly enjoyed it!

The Final Year
This book is slow to get into as it has a very unique poetry style the throughout whole book showing the story. I think this book is very cool with the design ,the way the words are laid out on the page for different scenarios and emotions. This book shows the side of poverty, brotherhood and friendship, Its different to other books and is a good read.

Little Bang
I really liked Little Bang, it was a really interesting book. Once you start reading it you can't really stop. I just do not really like how much it brings up abortion, it starts to get a bit boring after time, but overall I really liked the book and would definitely read it again. Its an amazing book.

Treacle Town
Treacle Town.
This book is very exciting , enthusiastic , and adventurous. I really enjoyed this book as it is all about a group of boys who are living in harsh conditions in their town that have happened by a gang of other boys and have to figure out who is tearing apart their town and making it be how it is . This book is a coming of age novel and I would give it a 7/10 rating .

Treacle Town
it was really good! I feel as though it could do with a better ending- the characters like mark/biscuit at the start had a really bad turn but wee z just gives me a laugh because of his nickname. I mean this book really enters the modern day now like all the slang kids use nowadays. I rate it 9/10- probably the best book I've read in a while yet I do want to warn any young readers there is some strong language but it is based in a British/Scottish gang rivalry.
