Treacle Town
I found that this book was reasonably difficult to read but overall I was glad to have read it. I thought that the theme was very topical and i enjoyed that it explored topics that are not mentioned often. I found it quite challenging to read because of all the different characters but once it got to the second half it flowed more quickly.

King of Nothing
I read king of nothing and I was not expecting to enjoy it as much as I did. I thought that it really resonated, as quite a lot of it was about the dynamics of secondary school and choosing your GCSES. It also highlight misogyny in young boys and also discrimination because of someone being different . Overall it is worth the read and I really enjoyed it.

Treacle Town
Treacle Town is a great book, I found it very intriguing , in the aspect in which it shed a new light upon such an unfortunate life like Conner's, he doesn't grow up in great conditions, in fact he struggles a lot. There is tones of controversy over this book, but, in my opinion it was a great read definitely my favourite book which I've read so far, the story is gripping and understanding, I enjoyed it 10/10

Play
I thought it was a great book that had a clear plot while still going into lots of detail of the struggles that teenage boys can go through. The elements of drugs creates a sense of fear and an feeling of imminent danger as well as evoking sympathy for the characters. Overall, an amazing read.

Treacle Town
Treacle Town took me a while to get interested in but when I got to around half way through I was quite hooked. After that, I was able to enjoy reading it but it had a slow start. One of the things I found confusing was the characters in his friend group since they all had nicknames such as Nails and Wee Z. While the only one I always recognised was Mark (Biscuit) mainly because it made sense. Overall I liked the ending the most since everything I read before that made sense.

The Final Year
When first started reading this book, I was hesitant because of the poetry aspect. However, I think it might now be one of the best parts of the books. It really allows you to get a good grasp on the characters, and it reflects the boy's mind incredibly. Also, this book made me sob, so 10/10. Wonderful and heart-warming story, very gripping and all-round amazing.

Glasgow Boys
I think this was an amazing read, thought provoking, emotional and a complete gem of a book. From the very start to the beautiful end, I thoroughly enjoyed this. It explored themes of joy, distrust, pain, and the struggle that so many orphans that go through the care system experience. I couldn't put it down for hours after my bedtime, and though this book managed to tire me in this way, looking forward to the morning, when I could carry on reading, really lifted my spirits.

The Final Year
The book is incredible, I loved all of it. For me personally I felt the story and the way the author chose to display the emotions of Nate through poem was creative and meant the book was an easy read, which I personally like, a simple easy book. The story overall was a roller-coaster of emotions and I nearly shed a tear at the heart wrenching tale in which Nate and his brothers embarked on. It's a very interesting book formatted in a way which catches your attention. I would recommend.

King of Nothing
This was a really good and easy read, however, it was very predictable. Personally, this didn't take away from my overall experience reading it. I was a bit unsure about it to start with but once I got into it I did enjoy it. I thought that the characters were well thought out and that the storyline fit with them. I would recommend this.

All That It Ever Meant
This book was one that initially I had overlooked - I’m not sure why, but I did. This was a mistake. I had heard that there was little action, and it wasn’t other people’s favourite, so I gave it a go and loved it. I stand by the fact that books with hinted-at-but-still-unexpected plot twists are the best. Especially when they have a slightly spiritual sense to them. I have even recommended it to my mum!

The Things We Leave Behind
All the things we leave behind was so well written and you can really get a feeling of the closeness of their family and friendships. I loved the plot twist at the end and I think that you should defo read this. I would strongly reccomend.

Glasgow Boys
I could go on and on about how amazing this book is, but I don't think I'd be able to get across how wonderful this book is. I genuinely couldn't put this book down, I read it through meals because I was so hooked. You fall in love with both characters, and you root for them throughout the entire book and you cry when it finishes because it's that good.

The Final Year
That feeling after you finish a book in an hour and then question life for another three? Well that is exactly what happened with the Final Year. We absolutely loved it, the poetry, the deep thoughts during and after. If you are questioning it because you feel like you are ‘too old to read it’… READ IT NOW!!
