Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
You can tell this book means the world to him, because it truly transports you into one. Out of all Carnegie books I've read, I do feel this is one of the best... The worldbuilding and characterisation is actually phenomenal: something I, as a writer, am very very inspired by!
Although the book may seem whimsical at first, this whole world is wonderfully thought-provoking, and prompts you of the endless forms art and stories can take. (Actually, this book reminds me of concept albums - - music with loose storylines.) I understand how a human nobody may dislike this story for its unrealistic plotline or reflective writing style, but it wasn't written to cuddle you -- this was made for breaking boundaries and allowing the author to explore an adorable world with representational characters. There's also a sidekick with ADHD and a blind mentor, adding to the novel's grounded and wholesome nature... extra points there!
To conclude, this planet has snuck into my 'AWESOME BOOKS (I swear)' shelf, and, one of these days, I swear I will buy a copy to keep it there.
Thanks for reading.
