Birdie
I didn’t think i’d enjoy it at first but it ended up being a really nice book. I can’t remember if I posted a review for this one so i’m doing it again just in case, but I liked how instead of her making a normal friend like most books would have, the friend was a horse.

Not Going To Plan
Not going to plan is a hooking, stressful and powerful story about mistakes, teenage love and freedom from the expectations of school life and society. With it's easy, fun-to-read text layout and incredible, meaningful story, I didn't want to stop reading. Truly one of the best books I have read in a long time.

The Boy I Love
William Hussey’s The Boy I Love is a novel that explores the complexities of a unique identity during the first world war. The story follows Edward, a young man navigating the excitement of first love while living in a war zone environment. Hussey balances the warmth of a still unpopular romance with the harsh, historical reality of fear.

Birdie
Birdie- theme: historical fiction set in the 1950's. Birdie by J.P. Ross is a heart warming, sweet book about a girl, Birdie Bagshaw who moved from a foster home with Mr and Mrs Dudley, to Yorkshire with her great aunt and uncle. I really liked how Birdie's aunt at first didn't accept her, but then once she shared her story, they actually started caring about each other. I also liked how much Birdie cared about about Mr Duke, saving him in that mine and being willing to going away with him to give him to Mr Dudley's farm. I also really liked Brian's character as at first, he made fun of her and was mean to her, but then he got used to her and ended up being really nice to her and protecting her from the bullies. Overall, it's a book about fitting in, moving to new places, racism and people fitting in. It is a sweet book, that I would give a 3.5/5.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
I've read a monster calls and the rest of us live here so I've liked your books for a while. However, it surprises me that you manage to be very diverse and appeal to younger readers in this book. Your use of abstract ideas and humor manage to keep it light hearted yet explain serious topics to younger readers like carrying burdens and depression so keep it up and well done.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
I thought that this was quite a nonsensical, playful book about monitor lizards. Although I found the book quite childish and absurd, I would definitely recommend this book to my younger brother!

Birdie
I thought that this was quite a thoughtful, insightful book that talked about England before it became accepting and diverse. It's a powerful book that shows animals can the greatest support and comfort sometimes when no one is around!

Popcorn
Popcorn by Rob Harrell is an interesting book in the day of life as someone who is quite emotional and suffers from anxiety in school. The genre is quite similar to Diary Of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney, as it involves a sense of humour and mixes in school life. It also has some illustrations and is overall a fairly quick read.

Birdie
theme: historical fiction set in 1950's. I really like 'Birdie' as I thought it was a very happy, heart-warming book, not only about racism, but about people who live in less fortunate conditions. I really like the using of listing, often at the end of a chapter, for example, down, down, down and waiting, waiting. I also like Brian's character as he starts being unsure of Birdie, but then starts to like and accept her, and then ends up protecting her. Overall, it is a book on friendships, new communities and being accepted. I would rate it a 3.5/5.

Wolf Siren
Wolf Siren by Beth O'Brien is a very interesting story similar to the old fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood, but in Wolf Siren, it is about a girl who can transform into a wolf, as well as her sister, grandmother and a few others. Also it's set in a secluded village in the middle of a magical forest. Magical because the trees and vines move on their own.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
It was quite an easy story to read and it seemed to be a normal children's book yet it had many meanings behind the story which made it interesting

The Boy I Love
I felt it was very dark at the beginning but as the book progressed I found it was more enjoyable.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody is an easy to read, fast paced book with unique characters and a funny story. As a thirteen year old, however, I did find it quite young, but it's important morals and ideas are still shown in more advanced books. A heartwarming and wonderfully bizarre read.

Not Going To Plan
It was an amazing book and I loved how it represented a type of assault people don’t usually recognise as rape. Although, I felt that some parts of the story were a little unfinished. We never got to see how Harry’s reputation was affected, or his reaction to what Jessica and Marnie said in front of everyone, or his family’s reaction. We also never really got to see the end of what happened with Luca and Zed — when Luca said “Maybe I just wasn’t the right one for you.” Zed thought in his head that nobody could be more right for him than Luca, but then nothing else significant happened between them. Zed just stayed unlabelled and what he’d thought about nobody being righter than Luca was not addressed again. I think that they should have either actually got together or Zed shouldn’t have thought that about Luca, because now it feels like that part of the story was accidentally forgotten about and dropped rather than completed with the rest of the book.

Ghostlines
Ghostlines is a fascinating and hooking read. One of my favourite things about it is what an incredible picture Katya Balen painted for us readers, not with illustrations but with amazing descriptive language. It really shows the journey of change through the highs and lows of travelling to a new place, and through relatable and unique characters. A great book for people who may be struggling with change or fitting in to a new environment.

Popcorn
Popcorn is a truly heartwarming and informative book, going deep into truly what anxiety feels like and what it can lead to. Every character is unique and interesting, and the story still contained a lot of humour. I also thought the illustrations added a lot to the plot, because we could experience anxiety visually, as well as from Rob Harrell's own words.

Wolf Siren
I really liked 'Wolf Siren'. Its surprisingly easy to get into, and incredibly difficult to put down. I liked how the story explored more traditional, almost indigenous women in a fantastical way. I liked how it portrayed the woods and the wolves. The storyline was also very interesting, with possible references to the fairytale of Little Red Riding Hood. All in all, A 5 starread.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
The book ''The Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody'' is quite funny, and it talks about deep topics such as step-parents in a light-hearted, easy way. I really liked the pictures, that were not too frequent {Once a chapter} but also drawn in a nice style. The book doesn't get boring because its not too long and a lot happens. throughout. If I rated this out of five, I would give it a four, because I think its a bit too young for my age.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
The Chronicles of a Lizard Nobobdy, published by Patrick Ness involves a very interesting storyline, in which everyone in the story are animals. The main protaganist of the story is a lizard call Zeke (I think that's how you spell it) who goes to an animal school and faces many challenges such as being picked on by some of the birds. However overall, it is a good, quick read, which can be finished within a day partly due to its large font and illustrations.

Wolf Siren
I might not have much to say about the book, but I did enjoy it. It was spoiled for me, but I still really liked reading it because it was good.

Chronicles of a Lizard Nobody
It had fun illustrations, was a nice light read, and I liked that it was really silly. I wasn’t sure i’d like it, but it ended up being really great.

Ghostlines
Although it had a strange format (like italics instead of speech marks) I thought this book was good. I liked Rowan despite how little he showed up.

Popcorn
I really liked this book because people commonly think that things like OCD is just a quirky label that you can use to feel special and unique when you like to have your desk organised, but it’s actually a lot more than that, and this book shows how awful it can really be when you suffer from it.

The Boy I Love
I absolutely loved this book. It brings to lights the stories that would have been kept a secret and in such an amazing way. It was well paced with great characters and a wonderful storyline. It’s become one of my favourite books of all time and I was so upset when it ended because I wanted more. If a book deserves to win an award, it’s definitely this one. I’m so grateful that i participated in Carnegie because if I hadn’t I may not have found this book.
