Wildful
This book is amazing as it tells a whole story with just pictures. Each picture is detailed and intricate and although a lot of people don't understand it, there is a message we can all learn from! Just from the pictures!!!!

The Playdate
This book has fabulous pictures but it also has an amazing storyline, the little kids mum is the cleaner of her friend. I think it really dives deep; Clara did an excellent job!

Shrapnel Boys
Shrapnel boys is a story of endurance and perseverance. I think I would rate it 7/10 as I didn't love it as much as I thought I would and the fact that I didn't really get past the 3rd chapter showed that it wasn't my type of book. But overall, it gives a really good perspective as to what life was like in World War 2. I would say it is for ages 9+ as it has the ideas of never-ending hardships but still has a happy ending. It was still a really amazing book though!

On the Wall

Ghostlines
An amazing book about adjusting to new places, how everywhere is special in It's own way and how you can never forget where you come from.

Popcorn
I enjoyed how there were a lot of flashbacks and how the main character would explain everything in such an easy and understandable way. I also like how in this book, the teachers are looking out for Andrew, giving them a more chilled-out vibe than in real life. Overall, this is a great book and I recommend it to people who like comedy and friendship stories.

Wolf Siren
Wolf Siren is an amazing book - I feel like I am actually experiencing the ups and downs Red has. It is really amazing and I recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy.

Ghostlines
Ghostlines has a very good storyline - I wish I lived in Ayrie. There is a massive twist at the end concerning the forest (which I will not spoil) but overall it's a really good book. The way of writing is annoying at first, but you get used to it.

The Spick and the Span
A very slow beginning giving you a backstory of Ward's life in his cleaning agency, the Spick and Span.
Ward one of the main characters brings a strong sense of inspiration to his desire to become a great well known cleaner 'heroes of the city' in his opinion as he strongly looks up to them. He desperately wants to enter trials to train to become one of the great cleaners.
The activeness in the story builds up as more pressing matters come into hand (than Ward's desire to become a cleaner)with a sense of adventure and a few emotional scenes with Magda,a warrior endeavouring to get back home through dangerous portals, recklessly searching for her mum! Not only that but the world becomes unstable with magic and things become out of control.
The end is quite dramatic as it's up to Ward and Magda to find a way for survival.
I recommend it as it's an adventurous, playful book- a chaotic world filled with magical mayhem!!

Black Star
I found this book very interesting as everything was written in verses like poetry unlike books normally.
I really liked the titles on top of the pages giving you a brief indication what the chapter is about and how it was based on real life things. All together with the neighbourhood bully who was being rude to Charley (who stayed extremely courageous )and the challenged baseball game between them and his best friend this book is such a thrilling and unique book to read.
The fact how Charley is determined to become the first female pitcher to play professional baseball no matter how hard tells you that the message that the author may be giving is that you can accomplish what you set your mind to even if it may seem impossible - and I loved that!

Shrapnel Boys
This book is really good - it focuses on WWII in London for once. I like it because usually WWII books with kids as the main characters are about their evacuation experiences. this book, on the other hand, talks about the life of a boy within London during the time of war. it must be pretty hard to be him because he thinks this guy is pretty sus but everyone else doesnt and kinda likes him. Ok long story short this book is great everyone read it!

Wolf Siren

Shrapnel Boys
This book has a fabulous setting, it is really interesting as the theme is familiar but Pearson takes a spin on it!! It makes you feel what the boys are going through and their feelings towards the war!

The Spick and the Span
This book is amazing, it is so unpredictable as the twists and turns of the charecters and the complex situation of the vortex. Martin created a truly origional world with interesting charecters and stories!

Popcorn
I liked Popcorn because it is about a boy called Andrew who can't cope with anxiety and there are really fun pictures to illustrate the words. I would recommend this book for ages 9+, and for people who like books about anxiety. It is also quite funny and Andrew has lots of accidents during the day, such as standing up to bullies and has mishaps in P.E.
