Popcorn
Popcorn started a bit slow for me, and I didn't really enjoy the first few chapters. But as the story continued, it became much more engaging.By the end, I appreciated the message of the story and found it much more enjoyable than I expected at first.

The Boy I Love
this books has excellent descriptions, and it is very educational about World War 1 it talks about the western front and what the trenches were like. It shows the struggles of the LGBTQAI+ community in those times and how they couldn't truly be who they are. Overall I loved this book.

Twenty Four Seconds from Now
Twenty Four Seconds From Now It's about a boy fighting his fear and anxiety. He is 17. He lives with his sister, mother, father, and grandmother. This book shows how he meets his love and also talks about their sweet memories. A moment that's stuck in my memory is when he was collecting his whole families' phones for his school project. I like the character of his sister, due to her supporting nature and her guidance of helping Neon's relationship with Aria.

Birdie
Birdie is an emotional and heart warming book. It talks about racism, courage and belonging in a new place. Birdie is a likeable character and the story is both sad and hopeful at times. I liked how the book was fast paced I really enjoyed reading it. It is a great book for people who love animals.

Mishael

Wolf Siren
I love this book mainly because I am not into fantasy and its not my genre, however it sparked a new interest in me. My favourite part is where Red realises what she is and goes against the people in her village's beliefs.

Zaid

Twenty Four Seconds from Now
In 'twenty - four seconds from now', key elements and themes of ordinary teenage love is explored. Through Neon's perspective of meeting and loving Aria the book reveals how subtle yet exquisite love can be. Through Neon's point of view of the story, we can also see how teenagers of such age of 17, interact with love. Each chapter of flashbacks shows every important moment of his interaction with Aria. One of my favourite moments in the book, was when he first met Aria. Rather than a whole magical scene of meeting one another, the scene of their first encounter is simple yet unique, making us the audience relate such scene to the ideal realistic world. I would definitely recommend this book to those who are interested in the stages of how love grows stronger and forever.

Wolf Siren
Wolf Siren is an amazing book keeping me on the edge of my seat. It explores ideas of sexism and empowerment. It was a great book and I can recommend it to people in years 9 and below. It is a good book and can have a chance of winning the Carnegies.

Not Going To Plan
Not Going To Plan is an enlightening book showing the good and bad of teenage life from friendships romance and fierce loyalty. Zed and Marnie's relationship is an amazing show of how even if you don't have compatible personalities a wonderful friendship can blossom. I found this book gripping through the layout of the book which made it easy and quick to read. I would read another book by this author because I love the layout that Fisher uses. It has been one of my favourite books that I have read and I think it is a very good candidate for the Carnegie Medal.

Kyla

Birdie
Very interesting and has lots of plot twists of what would happen to the lost horse ( Mr Duke ) and how life would be with her (Birdie) new family.

Ghostlines
This book has lots of memorable parts like when Albie went to the secret island to try and save the puffins and when Albie got punched in the face. Overall, I enjoyed reading this book and I think it should earn the Carnegie Medal.

The Boy I Love
I feel this book is incredibly moving and relatable towards those within the LGBTQ, highlighting struggles we face in life - and past history. It's a good way to shine a light on the fact that the LGBTQ wasn't 'just around' in the 21st century and has in fact appeared much further in the past than some people perceive. This book has made me feel a range of emotions from upset to warm to angry; angry towards the idea these things truly have happened to people, upset through the events within the book making me feel moved, and warmth from how despite everything, they make it work.
