The Wilderness
I really liked the images in this book because you can see both sides of their opinions how Oktober thinks and how everyone else in the family thinks. Also I really like how you can see in the illustration everyone’s personality like for example in April you can see she likes music/singing because there is always music notes or microphones around her. I can also see that at the start all of the pages are more darker tones and then when you see the Wilderness it is lighter so you have a feeling that he is not a monster he is more of a friend. At the start I could see that Oktober’s side is more dark and the family’s side is more alive. The illustrations show how like in a normal family each person has a favourite brother/sister for example in nearly every page we can see January and December together. I can also see that like a family they all have different personality’s and looks.

Crossing the Line
It is a very fun and interesting book. I would say it suits the newer generation more because of the language and style, the age guideline is definitely correct, no children under the age guideline should read it as it is quite graphic. I love the way it is written and the format it is in.

Lost
This book is for a young age but could be read by any age. It is very clever as it shows you the importance of friendship and kindness and how if you are in an abnormal situation it is always nice to have a helping hand with things you are unsure about. It also teaches you that even if you are lost in a completely different place you can always strive to find someone or something to help you. I like this book as it shows you you can get through tough situations.

To the Other Side
An interesting style to describe the battle that refugees face in trying to find a new home. I really enjoyed it.
